Loan Repayment Help
Story
Dear Sir/Madam,
Let me introduce myself. I am Srikesh Krishnaiyer Subramanyan, 59 years old. My wife, Trupti Srikesh Iyer, and I have one daughter, Sreeya. I have always been a responsible citizen and have never asked for assistance before.
My daughter is highly intelligent and scored well in both her SSC and Class 12 examinations. She has always aspired to study abroad. The primary reason for sending her abroad was to ensure she does not face the same struggles we encountered due to a lack of education. To support her education in Canada, we sold our properties, exhausted our savings, and took out education loans, personal loans, and credit card debt.
Unfortunately, we encountered unforeseen financial burdens due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, my daughter was hospitalized due to a stomach ulcer, forcing her to return to India in her first year. Around the same time, I developed swollen lymph nodes in my neck, underwent surgery, and was diagnosed with tuberculosis. My diabetes also worsened, leading to multiple hospital admissions. These medical emergencies have placed me under a severe financial burden.
Currently, I am in significant debt, totaling approximately ₹1 crore. My monthly EMI and credit card installments amount to ₹4.5 lakh, while my take-home salary is ₹1.8 lakh. After covering rent and household expenses, I can only afford to pay ₹1.3 lakh towards my loans, leaving a shortfall of ₹3 lakh each month. Over the past few months, I have liquidated all my gold, insurance maturities, and other savings to keep up with repayments. However, despite my continuous payments, the high interest rates have prevented the principal amount from reducing.
I am now facing relentless harassment and threatening calls from banks, causing immense mental distress. My wife is severely depressed and experiencing suicidal thoughts due to our dire financial situation. We have no remaining assets to liquidate and no family members or friends who can support us.
It is with great shame and humility that I seek your help. I have never asked for financial assistance before, but I am left with no other option. I would be immensely grateful for any temporary financial support you can provide, which I am committed to repaying in monthly installments.
On a positive note, my daughter has now completed her graduation from the University of British Columbia and has secured an internship. Although her current salary is just enough to cover her rent and living expenses, she will be in a position to assist me in repaying the debt in the future.
If I receive financial assistance, I will be able to repay my loans to the bank, relieve myself from this unbearable stress, and regain peace of mind. I assure you that I will return every rupee borrowed as soon as my financial situation improves. I am ready to repay, so that someone like me can also receive help from you in the future.
I am prepared to provide any necessary documentation or information to support my request. Your assistance would greatly appreciated and would make a significant different in my life.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
